howdy folks,
i presented/defended my thesis this past thursday (2/17/05). it went well & i'm done with my master's now! (well, i still need to get some paperwork signed by dan & bob but those are formalities.) here are some pictures that my dad took:
the top one is of dan giving me an introduction. the bottom one is after i presented when folks were just milling around. FYI, i was wearing my jerry garcia "china cat sunflower" tie. seems like i wear it to every occasion where i need to wear a tie (except laura & sinan's wedding!). also, sorry for the darkness of the photos.
thursday was really quite a roller coaster day. not sleeping the night before, defending my thesis, finding out that i no longer had a job in oregon, talking with all sorts of folks about my options, finding out later in the evening that at the last minute the refuges were able to come up with enough funding to hire me after all, going to sleep at 9pm because i was so exhausted....
