another quick post....

dawn & doug picked up the chicks from marilyn's yesterday! they all seem to be doing pretty well except for one little chick, a bantam, that seems to be slower than the rest. the chicks are a little over 2 weeks old and so d&d set them up in the basement with a red heat lamp. i took some pictures:

my chick is the dark one in the middle. dawn's little white crested black polish bantam is the one with the funny white top hat tuft looking straight at the camera. the little dark bantam to the left of my chick is ram's partridge wyandotte. all of the white chicks are jumbo cornish x rocks that d&d are raising for meat. i can't believe how big the cornish x rocks are. i mean, they're the SAME age as the rest of the chicks!

last night was my second night at my newport apartment. i signed the lease about a week ago but i've been splitting time at dawn's & at the bunkhouse & in long beach, WA. the apartment is sparsely furnished at this point and i'm debating whether i should even bother furnishing it any more than it already is. i mean, i DO have my futon. isn't that all i need?
