    [current music: andrew bird- armchairs]

sunday night here & i just got off the phone with BooBoo. she (among many others) wondered why i hadn't written a blog update in months. no real reason, just laziness, i guess. anyway, there's much to catching up to do....

here are some month by month heavy on the pictures & videos, light on the text highlights (through january & february... march will have to wait!).:

    january
petty cash at the goble tavern where i met dean, my bridge painting, north dakotan, laconic, should-be-in-the-westerns friend; a super productive week and a half in cathlamet & port angeles; & norwegian wood.

    february
    the winter laugh olympics!
hm, what else for february? well, there also were birthdays for anne, becca, dawn & gina (sorry no pictures); the chicken party (ditto); my lower columbia river vegetation recon flight; survey work at crowley creek; a weeklong trip to denver & WINTERGRASS w/ anne & francis
on thursday, anne, fran & i checked out jo miller & her burly roughnecks, which was fun. on friday, the 23rd (aka gina's birthday), the highlights included the (sometimes dead-like) jerry douglas band and chris thile (twice with his how to grow a band & once during the phenomenal midnight mandolins performance with hamilton de holanda & mike marshall). anne & fran shot some videos on their camera & here they are in all of their youtube glory for your listening (& viewing) pleasure!

chris thile & the how to grow a band performing 'how to grow a woman from the ground':

chris thile, mike marshall, & hamilton de holanda engaging in some improvisational mandolin pyrotechnics:

on saturday, we checked out the tacoma art museum where there was lots of chihuly, nice natural lighting & anne and francis looking cute.
anne & francis in the tacoma art museum
& then among the many bands we caught, we especially dug on the sounds of crooked still & the mammals.

crooked still w/ casey driessen performing 'wind & rain' (sounds good but is shaky!):

OK, so there you have it. some pictures, some videos. january, february.
    time. flies.
