this past week, i attended the NW GIS Users' Group Conference in sunriver, OR. i gave a presentation on "the use of participatory GIS in tidal wetland restoration planning." the folks from the regional office in portland & rachel also attended. the conference ended on friday & since rachel & i brought our bikes, we went down to benham falls for a nice ride post-conference. aaron is living in bend nowadays, working at the deschutes brewery public house so we stayed with him & his roommate on friday night. his roomie is into african drumming so we got a quick lesson on the djembe. i dig it. here are some pictures from the week:

i almost forgot to mention something extremely exciting that happened last weekend: dawn & i canned and smoked tuna! we each bought tuna from the docks on friday. & on sunday, we canned 72 half-pint jars of tuna in olive oil & garlic. i had marinaded half of my fish for smoking on saturday night & the smoker ran for about 6 hours to cure and smoke 6 lbs. yum!

   Look at you Mister Man! Awesome! I am so envious of the great things you are doing! You've worked very hard and long for your successes. Just wanted to see how things were going and it looks good! You look REALLY young. New haircut? Keep the youth!
